About Me

My name is Ross Gelman and art has been a huge part of my life as long as I can remember.  Fine art was my first love, but have found my second love in graphic design.  I can remember back in elementary school when other kids would doodle, I would be trying to figure out how to connect my initials into a logo.  I have always enjoyed drawing logos and looking at, and dissecting, every company's logos.  After attending Antonelli Institute for Graphic Design and Commercial Art, I am now efficient in all Adobe programs.  Through my learning process, my logo designing abilities have really flourished, along with my illustrations.  Because I began my art career as a fine artist, I tend to always go back to my illustrating abilities.  Now with my skills on the computer, I feel that my talents really have been pushed to their full potential and I feel as if I can conquer any project that is brought my way.

To understand who I am, it is not just art that keeps me going every day.  It is my extreme passion for sports and cars.  Being from the Philadelphia region, I grew up on the four major sports teams, the 76ers, Eagles, Phillies, and Flyers.  My family has had season tickets to the Sixers for almost 25 years, the Eagles for 10 years, and have always gotten tickets to the Phillies and Flyers whenever there was a free day in there.  Also, my dad's love for cars has been passed down to me as we try to attend all of the car shows possible every year.  As you can tell from some of my portfolio pieces and paintings, sports and cars are definitely a major influence in my thought process. I have always said that a dream job for me would be designing logos and uniforms for sports teams.  I would love nothing more than to stay in the Philadelphia region, but I am open to many possibilities if it means fulfilling my dreams in graphic design.
